I don't have much experience with poetry as I would want, but I do know enough. I know rap is a type of poetry also soliloquy. I know that not all poetry has to ryme. Also there are certain poetry that requires a certain amount of words like a haiku.
You could learn so more poetry, but yes your right not all poetry has to rhyme.
