"Cranes" Before You Read: Duty

If I had to chose between a final exam and going with a friend begging me to AWOL I would chose the exam. My reason why is that exams are quicker and simpler while on the other hand AWOling you have to not get caught and walk eight miles just to get the nearest sight of civilization. Now if I stay and do my exam I can just guess if I'm lazy or just do and go home in my comfortable bed. If my friend ask me to AWOL I would laugh at them and walk away and make the better decision.

"Dog Star" Before You Read: Special Animal

When I was in fifth grade my family got a boxer. We named him Max because that was the only name we knew for a dog at the time. He was my best friend, only because he was just like me. Nobody wanted him and he waned to be adopted. Also he likes to run around a play like I do. My favorite thing about him is that he is happy all the time. One aspect of him that reminded me of me is that he is really big but so young. I love my dog Max more than anything in the world.

"The Sniper" Theme Paragraph

The theme in story "The Sniper" by Liam O'Flaherty is War can cause the death of families including your own. The main character is a republican sniper who is in the middle of a civil war. During this war he was shot by another sniper across the street on a roof top. When He was shot he was filled up with so much fear that he had a genius plan to get out of the situation. He faked his deaqth by dropping his hat and gun into the street. So the other sniper thought he killed him and started to look away. Then the republican sniper pulled out his revolver and shot the other sniper. When he killed him he was bitten with remorse. He had a curious urge to see who killed so when he crossed the street to see who the man was he discovered that it was his own brother. This story is what can happen in war and during fear and can effect the lives of families.

The Most Dangerous Game” Plot Change

In the story The Most Dangerous Game General Zarrof hunts down Rainsford but at the end Zarrof dies. He lets Rainsford kill him at the end. If I was him I would of shot him. General Zarrof was smarter than that and I sure he had a revolver on him. If I was him I would of thanked him for the little fun that we had then I would of put the gun in his face and pulled the trigger. I think that would of been the best way to end the story. ALso it would of made more sense.

"The Sniper" Before You Read: Fear

When a person has fear their body takes control. What I mean by this is that your body will give you more strength if you need it or more speed. It can cause you to do well in many situations. For example, if you are trapped under a car and you try to push it off of you your body doesn't see it as danger. If there is a tornado coming your way and you are trapped under a car your body will go into fear mode and start pumping adrenaline and I bet that you will lift it high enough to get from under it.

"The Most Dangerous Game"

A villain who always fascinated me was Majin Buu from the telivision series Dragonball Z. He is a clay like monster who destroys cities for fun. He is able to break off pieces of his body and control to go on someone elses and asorb them. Also he has the power to turn anyone into candy of his choice. What was really interesting about him was that he was to people. Eons ago he was just a pure evil creature called Kid Buu who just hating everything. but when he absorbed a very friendly person he became a little less evil. Eventually Majin Buu seperated and Kid Buu came back out. Later in this series a man named Goku who is part of the Z Wariors destroys the evil one and Majin Buu became pure good.
