Get rich fast schemes do work if the seller knows who to sell to. If his\hers sells pitch is very well and has people to back him/her up the product can be sold quick and will take awhile for the consumer to know that it is a scam and the salesperson will already have the money. For example, Red Star World Wear is a online scam for glasses and watches. It gives out free 500 dollar gift cards to thousands of people. When you use this card it tells you that you got a discount so the consumer feels good. When you buy the product you have to pay a large fee for shipping and handling. In the end before people realize it, is that you spend more than what you actually have. When the consumer finds out about the scam, the salesperson already has the money due to it being paid online. So incluclusion scams work if the seller knows what they're doing.

"The Gift of the Magi" Before You Read: Prized Possession
If I could save one item from a disaster I would save the knife under my pillow. I would save it because a knife is the perfect survival kit. If you get shot and you need to get the bullet out, you can use the knife. Also if your tied up, you can used the knife to cut the rope. If it's you and a couple of people stranded and you have food that is hard to split, use the knife to divide the food equally. A knife is the perfect protection device because it doesn't nee ammo. So if there is a flood, I will use my knife to cling onto a building. If there is any disaster I will be ready with my knife.

The Lady, or the Tiger?" Before You Read: Choice
I have never had to choose between something good for me or someone else. If I did I would probably choose something good for me. Only because my mom said that I don't have to worry about anybody but myself. It's not that I'm selfish or anything I just see no point into helping somebody else. That only wastes my time from doing something for me. Every once in a while I'll help someone to help me. Overall I think helping yourself is more important than helping someone else.
"Marigolds" Before You Read: Moving into Adulthood
Some conflicts or fear we young people have going into adulthood is money. We wonder if we will have enough to pay for food or a place to stay. Also we fear of certain responsibilities and punishments. Like if we drive without a seat belt on we have to pay for it also we are responsible for who is in the car. Also college is a fear for some young people going into adulthood because now most jobs require a college degree. Overall there are many different fears and conflicts for youth going into adulthood.
"Thank You M'am" Before You Read: Going Gets Tough
There is some truth to the saying “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Almost like the survival of the fittest, the ones that are stronger will survive longer. Some people just know how to not give up because they have a really strong will that can't be broken as easily as others. Not everyone is physically tough in fact, most people who have to go through tough situations are mentally tough. Your body has limits but your mind doesn't which is the reason why people who are old can get through tough situations then most of us young people. Only because they more experience then others and they probably have came across the certain problem before so they know how to solve it and get past it.

"Dog Star" Chronological Order of Flashback Paragraph
If the narrator told the story "Dog Star" in chronological order it would of made the story less interesting. When a story uses a Flashback it brings in the reader more because the reader wants to know what was the outcome of the situation. If this story did not have a flash back you would not understand the story or what the narrator was talking about. An example was when the narrator was lying in his bed and was on the moon and he felt an earthquake he wanted to tell Laika, the dog that is still on earth dead, to be quiet. If narrator did not tell the reader what happenend before that incident the reader would be clueless therefore this story needs the flashback to fully understand the story.

"Cranes" Before You Read: Duty
If I had to chose between a final exam and going with a friend begging me to AWOL I would chose the exam. My reason why is that exams are quicker and simpler while on the other hand AWOling you have to not get caught and walk eight miles just to get the nearest sight of civilization. Now if I stay and do my exam I can just guess if I'm lazy or just do and go home in my comfortable bed. If my friend ask me to AWOL I would laugh at them and walk away and make the better decision.
"Dog Star" Before You Read: Special Animal
When I was in fifth grade my family got a boxer. We named him Max because that was the only name we knew for a dog at the time. He was my best friend, only because he was just like me. Nobody wanted him and he waned to be adopted. Also he likes to run around a play like I do. My favorite thing about him is that he is happy all the time. One aspect of him that reminded me of me is that he is really big but so young. I love my dog Max more than anything in the world.
